"And the sun took a step back, the leaves lulled themselves to sleep and fall was awakened."- Raquel Franco

Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. I love homeschooling during this season. Just like many families we mark our first days of our "homeschool" year with a few family traditions. One of our traditions is switching out the summer book reads, and adding in the annual autumn books. Some of our old favorites are: One Family, Feast for 10, Fry Bread, Goodbye Summer Hello Autumn, and Fletcher and the Falling Leaves. And, new favorites like Loujain Dreams of Sunflowers and Magnificent Homespun Brown.

Nothing welcomes coziness of autumn like slowing down and reading good books together. Squishing tightly together on the couch, huddling together on the living floor with our blankets and pillows, or taking our book basket outdoors and reading under our favorite tree, are just a few of the ways we get into the autumn spirit. I don't know about you, but experiencing these simple pleasure brings me so much joy.

You can visit my Amazon Storefront to find a full list of our favorites.
